Asterios Polyp by David Mazzucchelli
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book is fantastic! It’s like a Lego sculpture in which every brick is an important concept from Western philosophy. The visual language it exposes is easy to grasp, but goes very deep; I suspect it’s some dialect of Design.
There must be anagrams involved. I’m not going to look it up, but if there aren’t anagrams I’ll eat my hat.
Definitely worth four or five reads. I may have to take a trip through some relevant Platonic dialogues, too. Maybe some Sartre or Nietzsche.
